This Section introduces various books whose authors and translators relate to TBC.

This autobiography of Alex, Ramirez, the leading and inspiring player of Giants, includes his experiences playing in U.S. major league baseball, and in Japan, Swallows, and Yomiuri Giants. Ramirez also describes the key of his positive way of life; how his life has been impacted by God, and how his life changed through his faith in God. 190 pages.

Folds, Judi. Journey to Freedom 2: I Surrender All to Jesus (English/Japanese)

A devotion booklet used for TBC’s “Journey to Freedom 2” campaign in Fall, 2009. Judi is the wife of our senior pastor, Dennis Folds. The sins which we easily fall into and their practical ways of solution are discussed. The topics mentioned in this book are: sins of the tongue, envy and jealousy, worldliness, fear, conflict, conflict resolution, repentance, and obedience. Written in English-Japanese on opposite pages. 132 pages.

The book, Life Preservers: God’s Promises for Troubled Times, is written by the former Senior Pastor of a 20,000-attendants church in Kentucky and translated by our Ministry Pastor, Akira, and his wife. This book teaches us how to deal with storms in our lives, such as fear, doubt, loneliness, financial stress, guilt, and the peril of prosperity in biblical ways. The book is filled with humor in spite of the serious topics mentioned there. The explanation of the issues is clear and easy to understand. Good for a gift to friends and family members. 270 pages.

Jackson, Dub. Whatever It Takes. Nashville: Broadman & Holman publishers, $12.99 (English)

This is an autobiography of Dub Jackson, the founder of TBC, who, having been a pilot during WWII, became a missionary. In this book, Jackson describes how he was called to be a missionary in Japan. The description of the early days of TBC are valuable records which cannot be found anywhere else. English only. Available at TBC resource center. 238 pages.

Beckett, John D. Loving Monday. Translated by Takahide Akiyama. Tokyo: Iochinokotoba-sya, 2007. (Japanese)

The auther, John Beckett is CEO of R.W. Beckett Corporation, the world’s largest oil burner business company. He has applied the Biblical principles in running his business. The book is filled with specific advice to all businessmen who have difficulty in integrating faith with work or all managers who want to motivate their employees to enhance their abilities. The translator Takahide Akiyama is one of the members of TBC and an internationally active Christian businessman. He has been working hard introducing and translating good books on succeeding business as well as keeping good relationships with God. 221pages.
